살아 있는 날은

마른 향내나는
갈색 연필을 깎아
글을 쓰겠습니다

사각사각 소리나는
연하고 부드러운 연필 글씨를
몇 번이고 지우며
다시 쓰는 나의 하루

예리한 칼끝으로 몸을 깎아도
단정하고 꼿꼿한 한 자루의 연필처럼
정직하게 살고 싶습니다

나는 당신의 살아있는 연필
어둠 속에서도 빛나는 말로
당신이 원하시는 글을 쓰겠습니다

정결한 몸짓으로 일어나는 향내처럼
당신을 위하여
소멸하겠습니다

Freedom in Christ

Galatians 5:1-26

1

It is for freedom
that Christ has
set us free.

Stand firm, then,

and do not
let yourselves
be burdened
again

by a yoke of
slavery.

2

Mark my words!

I, Paul, tell you
that if you let yourselves
be circumcised,

Christ will be of
no value to you
at all.

3

Again I declare
to every man

who
lets himself
be circumcised

that
he is obligated
to obey the whole
law.

4

You who are
trying to be justified
by the law

have been
alienated from
Christ;

you have fallen away
from grace.

5

For through the Spirit
we eagerly await
by faith

the righteousness
for which we
hope.

6

For in Christ Jesus

neither
circumcision

nor
uncircumcision

has any value.

The only thing
that counts is
faith

expressing itself
through
love.

7

You were running
a good race.

Who cut in on you
to keep you
from

obeying
the truth?

8

That kind of persuasion
does not come from
the one who
calls you.

9

“A little yeast works
through the whole batch
of dough.”

10

I am confident
in the Lord

that
you will take
no other view.

The one
who is throwing you
into confusion,

whoever that may be,
will have to pay
the penalty.

11

Brothers and sisters,

if I am
still preaching
circumcision,

why am I still being
persecuted?

In that case
the offense of the cross
has been abolished.

12

As for those agitators,
I wish they would go
the whole way

and
emasculate
themselves!

Life by the Spirit

13

You, my brothers
and sisters, were called
to be free.

But

do not use

your freedom

to indulge

the flesh;

rather,

serve one another

humbly

in love.

14

For

the entire law

is

fulfilled

in keeping this

one command:

“Love your neighbor

as yourself.”

15

If you bite

and devour

each other,

watch out

or you will be destroyed

by each other.

16

So I say,

walk by the Spirit,

and you will not gratify

the desires of

the flesh.

17

For
the flesh desires
what is contrary to
the Spirit,

and the Spirit
what is contrary to
the flesh.

They are in conflict
with each other,

so that
you are not to do
whatever you want.

18

But
if you are led by
the Spirit,

you are not
under the law.

19

The acts of the flesh
are obvious:

sexual immorality,

impurity

and

debauchery;

20

idolatry

and witchcraft;

hatred,

discord,

jealousy,

fits of rage,

selfish ambition,

dissensions,

factions

21

and envy;

drunkenness,

orgies,

and the like.

I warn you,
as I did before,

that
those who
live like this

will not

inherit

the kingdom of

God.

22

But
the fruit of
the Spirit
is

love,

joy,

peace,

forbearance,

kindness,

goodness,

faithfulness,

23

gentleness

and self-control.

Against such things
there is no law.

24

Those who

belong to Christ Jesus

have crucified

the flesh

with its passions

and desires.

25

Since

we live by the Spirit,

let us keep in step

with the Spirit.

26

Let us not

become

conceited,

provoking

and envying

each other.

한 말씀에서

온유와

절제니

금지할 법이

사람들은

육체와 함께

그 정욕과

탐심을

만일 우리가

성령으로 살면

또한 성령으로

행할지니

헛된 영광을 구하여

서로 노엽게 하거나

서로 투기하지

말지니라

1 John 4

On Denying the Incarnation

4

Dear friends,

do not believe
every spirit,

but
test the spirits
to see whether they are
from God,

because
many false prophets
have gone out into
the world.

2

This is how
you can recognize
the Spirit of
God:

Every spirit

that acknowledges

that Jesus Christ has come

in the flesh is

from God,

And

every spirit

that confesseth

not

that

Jesus Christ

is come in the flesh

is not

of God:

and
this is that

spirit of antichrist,

whereof ye have heard
that it should come;

and even now
already is it in
the world.

but every spirit
that does not acknowledge
Jesus is not from
God.

This is

the spirit

of the antichrist,

which
you have heard is
coming

and
even now is already
in the world.

4

You,
dear children,
are from God

and have
overcome them,

because

the one who is in you

is greater

than
the one
who is in the world.

5

They are from the world
and therefore speak from
the viewpoint of
the world,

and
the world
listens to them.

6

We are from God,

and
whoever knows
God

listens to us;

but
whoever is not
from God

does not

listen to us.

This is how we recognize

the Spirit of truth

and the spirit of

falsehood.

God’s Love and Ours

Dear friends,
let us love one another,

for love comes

from God.

Everyone
who loves has been
born of
God

and knows God.

8

Whoever
does not love

does not
know God,

because

God is love.

9

This is how
God showed
his love among
us:

He sent
his one and only
Son into the world

that we might
live through
him.

10

This is love:

not that we loved God,

but that he loved us

and sent his Son

as an atoning sacrifice

for our sins.

11

Dear friends,

since God so loved us,

we also ought to

love one another.

12

No one has ever seen God;

but if we love one another,

God lives in us

and his love is

made complete in us.

13

This is how we know

that we live in him

and he in us:

He has given us of

his Spirit.

14

And we have seen

and testify that

the Father has sent his Son

to be the Savior of

the world.

15

If
anyone
acknowledges
that

Jesus is the Son of God,

God lives in them

and they in God.

16

And so we know

and rely on the love

God has for us.

God is love.

Whoever lives in love

lives in God,

and God in them.

17

This is how
love is made complete
among us

so that we will have
confidence on the day
of judgment:

In this world
we are like Jesus.

18

There is no fear in love.

But perfect love

drives out fear,

because fear has to do

with punishment.

The one who fears is not

made perfect

in love.

19

We love

because he first loved us.

20

Whoever claims to love God

yet hates a brother

or sister is a liar.

For whoever
does not love
their brother and sister,
whom they have seen,

cannot love God,

whom
they have not
seen.

21

And he has given us
this command:

Anyone
who loves God
must also love their brother
and sister.

사랑은 여기 있으니

우리가 하나님을

사랑한 것이 아니요

하나님이 우리를 사랑하사

우리 죄를 속하기 위하여

사랑하는 자들아

하나님이 이같이 우리를

사랑하셨은즉

우리도 서로 사랑하는 것이

어느 때나
하나님을 본 사람이
없으되

만일 우리가
서로 사랑하면

하나님이
우리 안에 거하시고

그의 사랑이 우리 안에

그의 성령을

두려움이 없고

두려움을 내쫓나니

두려움에는
형벌이 있음이라

두려워하는 자는

사랑 안에서

못하였느니라

우리가 사랑함은

그가 먼저 우리를 사랑하셨음이라

누구든지
하나님을 사랑하노라

그 형제를 미워하면

이는 거짓말하는 자니

보는 바

고독을 위한 의자

홀로 있는 시간은
쓸쓸하지만 아름다운
호수가 된다.

바쁘다고 밀쳐두었던 나 속의 나를
조용히 들여다볼 수 있으므로,

여럿 속에 있을 땐
미처 되새기지 못했던

삶의 깊이와 무게를
고독 속에 헤아려볼 수 있으므로

내가 해야 할 일
안 해야 할 일 분별하며

내밀한 양심의 소리에
더 깊이 귀기울일 수 있으므로,

그래
혼자 있는 시간이야말로
내가나를 돌보는 시간

여럿 속의 삶을
더 잘 살아 내가 위해

고독 속에
나를 길들이는 시간이다.

Mark 3:28-35

Truly I tell you,
 people can be forgiven
all their sins

and
 every slander
they utter,

 whoever
 blasphemes

 against

 the Holy Spirit

 will

never be

 forgiven;

they

 are guilty of

 an eternal sin.”

He said this
 because they were
saying,

“He has
 an impure spirit.”

Jesus’ mother
and brothers
arrived.

Standing
 outside,

they sent
 someone in
 to call him.

A crowd was
 sitting around him,

 “Who are my mother
