Fight The Good Fight of The Faith

If
anyone
teaches
otherwise

and
does not
agree

to
*the sound
instruction of
our Lord

Jesus Christ

and
to *godly
teaching,

they are
conceited

and
understand
nothing.

They have
an unhealthy
interest

in
controversies

and
quarrels about
words

that result

in envy,

strife,

malicious talk,

evil suspicions

5

and

constant
friction

between
people of corrupt
mind,

who have been

robbed of

the truth

and
who think

that

*godliness
is a means to
financial
gain.

6

But
*godliness with
contentment is
great gain.

7

For
we brought
nothing

into
the world,

and

we can
take nothing
out of it.

8

But

if
we have
food

and
clothing,

we will be
content with
that.

9

Those who
want to get
rich

fall
into
temptation

and a trap

and into many
foolish

and harmful
desires

that
plunge people
into ruin

and
destruction.

10

For
the love of
money

is

a
root of
all kinds of
evil.

Some people,
eager for
money,

have
wandered
from the
faith

and
pierced
themselves

with
many griefs.

11
 But you,
man of God,

 flee

from all this, 

and
pursue

righteousness,

godliness,

faith,

love,

endurance

and

gentleness.

12
 Fight
the good fight
of the faith. 

Take

hold of

 the eternal life

to
which
you were
called 

when
 you made
your good confession

 in
the presence
of many
witnesses.

먹을 것과

족한 줄로

부하려 하는 자들은
시험과 올무와

여러 가지
어리석고 해로운
욕심에 떨어지나니

곧 사람으로

파멸과 멸망에

빠지게 하는 것이라

돈을 사랑함이
일만 악의 뿌리가
되나니

탐내는 자들은

미혹을 받아

믿음에서 떠나

많은
근심으로써
자기를 찔렀도다

오직 너
하나님의 사람아

이것들을 피하고

의와

경건과

사랑과

인내와 온유를

따르며

믿음의
선한 싸움을
싸우라

영생을 취하라

이를 위하여

부르심을 받았고

Proverbs Chapter 29

When The Righteous Thrive 

1

Whoever
remains stiff-necked
after many
rebukes

will
suddenly
be destroyed—

without remedy.

2

When
the righteous
thrive,

the people
rejoice;

when
the wicked
rule,

the people
groan.

3

A man
who loves
wisdom

brings

joy

to his father,

but
a companion of
prostitutes

squanders
his wealth.

4

By
justice

a king

gives

a country

stability,

  but

those

who are greedy

for bribes

tear it down.

5

Those who
flatter their
neighbors

   are
spreading nets
for their
feet.

6

Evildoers
are snared by
their own
sin,

  but
the righteous

shout for joy

and

are glad.

7

The
righteous

care about

justice

for the poor,

but
the wicked

have no

such concern.

8

Mockers
stir up a city,

but
the wise
turn away anger.

9

If
a wise person
goes to court
with a fool,

   the fool
rages and
scoffs,

and
there is

no peace.

10

The
bloodthirsty

hate

a person
of integrity

 and
seek

to kill

the upright.

11

Fools
give full vent
to their rage,

   but
the wise

bring calm

in the end.

12

If

a ruler

listens to

lies,

 all
his officials

become

wicked.

13

The poor
and the oppressor
have this
in common:

The Lord

gives sight

to the eyes of

both.

14

If

a king

judges

the poor

with
fairness,

his
throne

will be

established

forever.

15

A rod
and a reprimand
impart wisdom,

but
a child left
undisciplined

disgraces
its mother.

16

When
the wicked

thrive,

so does

sin,

but

the righteous
will see

their
downfall.

17

Discipline

your children,

and
they will

give you

peace;

they
will bring you
the delights

you desire.

18

Where
there is no
revelation,

people

cast off

restraint;

but
blessed is
the one

who

heeds

wisdom’s
instruction.

19

Servants
cannot be
corrected by
mere words;

though
they understand,
they will not
respond.

20

Do you see
someone who speaks
in haste?

There is
more hope for a fool
than for them.

21

A servant
pampered from
youth

   will
turn out to be
insolent.

22

An angry person
stirs up
conflict,

    and
a hot-tempered
person

commits

many

sins.

23

Pride

brings

a person low,

but

the lowly
in spirit

gain

honor.

24

The accomplices
of thieves

are
their own
enemies;

they are
put under
oath

and
dare not

testify.

25

Fear of man
will prove
to be a snare,

    but

whoever
trusts
in the Lord

is

kept safe.

26

Many seek
an audience
with a ruler,

   but
it is from
the Lord

that

one gets

justice.

27

The righteous

detest

the dishonest;

the wicked

detest

the upright.

자주 책망을
받으면서도

목이 곧은
사람은

갑자기 패망을
당하고

피하지 못하리라

즐거워하고

지혜를
사모하는
자는

아비를
즐겁게 하여도

창기와
사귀는 자는
재물을 잃느니라

왕은

정의로

뇌물을

억지로

이웃에게
아첨하는 것은

Isaiah 33:14-16

The
sinners
in Zion are
terrified;

trembling grips
the godless:

“Who of us
can dwell with
the consuming
fire?

Who of us
can dwell with
everlasting
burning?”

15

Those
who

walk
righteously

and

speak
what is right,

who
reject gain
from extortion

and

keep
their hands
from accepting
bribes,

who
stop
their ears
against plots of
murder

and

shut
their eyes
against

contemplating evil—

16

they are
the ones

who will
dwell on
the heights,

whose refuge
will be

the mountain
fortress.

Their
bread will be
supplied,

and

water
will not fail
them.
