Therefore,
I urge you,

brothers
and sisters,

in
view of
God’s mercy,

to
offer
your bodies

as
a living sacrifice,

holy

and

pleasing to

God—

this is

your true

and proper

worship.

Do not

conform to

the pattern of

this world,

but

be transformed

by the renewing of

your mind.

Then
you will be able to
test and
approve

what
God’s will is —
his good, pleasing and
perfect
will.

by the grace
given me I say to
every one
of you:

Do not think of
yourself more highly
than you
ought,

but rather

think of

yourself

with

sober

judgment,

in

accordance

with the faith

God

has distributed to

each of you.

For just as
each of us has
one body

with many
members,

and

these members

do not all have

the same function,

so in Christ we,

though many,

form one body,

and
each member
belongs to
all the others.

We have

different gifts,

according

to the grace given to

each of us.

If
your gift is
prophesying,

then
prophesy

in accordance with

your faith;

if it is serving,
then serve;

if
it is
teaching,

then teach;

if
it is
to encourage,

then
give
encouragement;

if
it is
giving,

then
give generously;

if
it is
to lead,
do it diligently;

if
it is
to show mercy,

do it
cheerfully.

Love in Action

Love

must be

sincere.

Hate

what is evil;

cling to

what is good.

Be devoted

to one another

in love.

Honor

one another

above yourselves.

 Never be lacking

in zeal,

but keep

your spiritual fervor,

serving the Lord.

Love is Not Self-Seeking

1 Corinthians Chapter 13

If
I speak

in
the tongues
of men

or of angels,

but
do not
have love,

I am only
a resounding
gong

or
a clanging
cymbal.

If
I have
the gift of
prophecy

and can
fathom all
mysteries

and all
knowledge,

and

if
I have
a faith

that
can move
mountains,

but
do not
have love,

I am nothing.

If
I give
all I possess

to
the poor

and

give over
my body to
hardship

that
I may
boast,

but
do not
have love,

I gain nothing.

Love is
patient,

love is
kind.

It
does not
envy,

it
does not
boast,

it is not
proud.

It
does not
dishonor
others,

it
is not
self-seeking,

it is not easily
angered,

it
keeps
no record of
wrongs.

Love
does not
delight in evil

but

rejoices
with the
truth.

It

always

protects,

always trusts,

always hopes,

always perseveres.

Love never fails.

But

where
there are
prophecies,

they will cease;

where
there are
tongues,

they will be stilled;

where
there is
knowledge,

it will pass away.

For
we know
in part

and
we prophesy
in part,

but
when
completeness
comes,

what is in part
disappears.

I was a child,

I talked
like a child,

I thought
like a child,

I reasoned
like a child.

When
I became
a man,

I put
the ways of
childhood

behind
me.

For now

we see
only

a reflection as
in a mirror;

then
we shall see
face to
face.

fully,
