Destructive Doctrines

2 :1

But

there were
also

false prophets

among
the people,

even as
there will be

false teachers

among
you,

who will
secretly bring in
destructive heresies,

even denying
the Lord

who
bought them,
and bring on themselves
swift destruction.

2

And many
will follow their
destructive
ways,

because of
whom the way of
truth

will be
blasphemed.

3

By

covetousness

they
will exploit
you

with

deceptive

words;

for a long time

their judgment
has not been idle,

and their
destruction
does not slumber.

Doom of False Teachers

4

For if God did not
spare the angels
who sinned,

but
cast them down
to hell

and delivered
them into chains of
darkness,

to be reserved
for judgment;

5

and did not
spare the ancient
world,

but
saved Noah,

one of
eight people,

a preacher
of righteousness,

bringing in
the flood on the world
of the ungodly;

6

and turning
the cities of
Sodom and Gomorrah
into ashes,

condemned
them

to
destruction,

making them
an example
to those

who

afterward

would

live

ungodly;

7

and delivered
righteous
Lot,

who
was
oppressed

by
the filthy
conduct

of
the wicked

8

 (for that righteous man,
dwelling among
them,

tormented
his righteous soul
from day to day

by
seeing and
hearing

their
 lawless deeds)—

9

then

the Lord
knows

how to deliver
the godly

out of
temptations

and
to reserve

the unjust

under

punishment

for
the day of

judgment,

10

and especially
those who walk
according to the flesh

in
the lust
of uncleanness

and

despise
authority.

They are
presumptuous,

self-willed.

They

are not

afraid

to speak

evil

of
dignitaries,

11

where as angels,
who are greater

in power
and might,

do not
bring a reviling
accusation

against them
before the Lord.

Depravity of False Teachers

12

But these,
like natural brute
beasts

made

to be caught

and destroyed,

speak

evil

of the things

they do not
understand,

and will

utterly

perish

in
their

own

*corruption,

13

and will receive
the wages of
unrighteousness,

as those who
count it pleasure
to carouse in the daytime.

They are spots
and blemishes,

carousing
in their own
deceptions

while
they feast
with you,

14

having eyes
full of adultery
and that cannot cease
from sin,

enticing
unstable souls.

They have
a heart trained
in covetous practices,

and are accursed
children.

15

They have forsaken
the right way

and gone
astray,

following
the way of Balaam
the son of Beor,

who loved
the wages of
unrighteousness;

16

but he was
rebuked for
his iniquity:

a dumb donkey
speaking with
a man’s voice

restrained
the madness of
the prophet.

17

These are wells
without water,

clouds carried
by a tempest,

for whom is
reserved
the blackness of
darkness forever.

Deceptions of False Teachers

18

For when
they speak great
swelling words of
emptiness,

they allure
through the lusts
of the flesh,

through
lewdness,

the ones
who have actually
escaped

from
those
who live

in
error.

19

While

they

promise them

liberty,

they
themselves

are

slaves

of

corruption;

for by whom
a person is
overcome,

by him
also he is brought
into bondage.

20

For if,
after they have
escaped

the pollutions of
the world

through
the knowledge
of the Lord

and Savior
Jesus Christ,

they are
again entangled
in them

and overcome,
the latter end

is
worse
for them

than
the beginning.

21

For it would
have been better for
them not to have known
the way of righteousness,

than
having
known it,

to turn from
the holy commandment
delivered to
them.

22

But
it has happened
to them

according
to the true proverb:

“A dog
returns
to his own vomit,”

and,

“a sow,
having washed,
to her wallowing
in the mire.”

가만히
끌어들여

자기들을 사신
주를 부인하고

임박한 멸망을
스스로 취하는
자들이라

여럿이
그들의 호색하는 것을
따르리니

이로
말미암아

진리의 도가
비방을 받을 것이요

그들이

탐심으로써

지어낸 말을
가지고

너희로

이득을 삼으니

그들의 심판은
옛적부터 지체하지
아니하며

그들의 멸망은
잠들지 아니하느니라

4

하나님이
범죄한 천사들을
용서하지 아니하시고

지옥에 던져
어두운 구덩이에
두어

심판 때까지
지키게 하셨으며

5

옛 세상을
용서하지
아니하시고

오직 의를 전파하는
노아와 그 일곱 식구를
보존하시고

경건하지
아니한 자들의 세상에
홍수를 내리셨으며

6

소돔과 고모라 성을
멸망하기로
정하여

재가 되게
하사

후세에

경건하지
아니할 자들에게

본을

삼으셨으며

7

무법한 자들의
음란한 행실로
말미암아

고통 당하
는 의로운 롯을
건지셨으니

8

(이는 이 의인이
그들 중에 거하여

날마다
저 불법한 행실을
보고 들음으로

그 의로운 심령이
상함이라)

주께서
경건한 자는
시험에서 건지실 줄
아시고

불의한 자는
형벌 아래에
두어

심판 날까지
지키시며

10

특별히
육체를 따라
더러운 정욕 가운데서
행하며

주관하는 이를

멸시하는

자들에게는

형벌할 줄
아시느니라

이들은

당돌하고

자긍하며

떨지 않고

영광 있는 자들을
비방하거니와

11

더 큰 힘과
능력을 가진 천사들도

주 앞에서
그들을 거슬러
비방하는 고발을
하지 아니하느니라

12

그러나

이 사람들은
본래 잡혀 죽기
위하여 난

이성 없는
짐승 같아서

그 알지 못하는 것을
비방하고

그들의
*멸망(부패) 가운데서
멸망을 당하며

13

불의의 값으로
불의를 당하며

낮에 즐기고
노는 것을 기쁘게
여기는 자들이니 점과 흠이라

너희와 함께
연회할 때에

그들의 속임수로
즐기고 놀며

14

음심이 가득한 눈을
가지고

범죄하기를
그치지 아니하고

굳세지 못한 영혼들을
유혹하며

탐욕에

연단된
마음을

가진 자들이니

저주의

자식이라

15

그들이
바른 길을
떠나

미혹되어

아들 발람의 길을
따르는도다

그는

불의의 삯을

사랑하다가

16

자기의

불법으로

말미암아

책망을 받되

말하지 못하는 나귀가
사람의 소리로
말하여

이 선지자의
미친 행동을
저지하였느니라

이 사람들은

물 없는
샘이요

광풍에
밀려 가는
안개니

그들을
위하여

캄캄한 어둠이
예비되어
있나니

18

그들이

허탄한
자랑의 말을
토하며

그릇되게 행하는
사람들에게서

겨우
피한 자들을

음란으로써
육체의 정욕 중에서
유혹하는도다

19

그들에게

자유를 준다
하여도

자신들은

멸망의
종들이니

누구든지

진 자는
이긴 자의
종이 됨이라

20

만일

그들이
우리 주 되신

구주 예수 그리스도를
앎으로

세상의
더러움을 피한
후에

다시 그 중에
얽매이고

지면

그 나중
형편이

처음보다
더 심하리니

21

의의 도를
안 후에 받은
거룩한 명령을

저버리는
것보다

알지 못하는
것이

참된 속담에

Warnings From *Israel’s History

8 :1

“At that time,”
says the Lord,

“they shall
bring out

the bones of
the kings of Judah,

and
the bones of
its princes,

and
the bones of
the priests,

and
the bones
of the prophets,

and
the bones
of the inhabitants
of Jerusalem,

out of
their graves.

2

They shall
spread them

before

the sun

and

the moon

and
all the host
of heaven,

which

they

have

loved

and  which

they

have

served

and after

which
they have
walked,

which
they have
sought

and which

they

have

worshiped.

They shall not
be gathered
nor buried;

they shall be
like refuse on the face
of the earth.

3

Then
death shall be
chosen rather than life

by all the residue
of those who remain
of this evil family,

who remain
in all the places
where I have driven them,”

says
the Lord of hosts.

The Peril of False Teaching

 “Moreover
you shall say
to them,

‘Thus says the Lord:

“Will they fall
and not rise?

Will one
turn away
and not return?

5

Why
has this people
slidden back,

Jerusalem,
in a perpetual
backsliding?

They hold
fast to deceit,

They
refuse to return.

6

I
listened
and heard,

But
 they do not
speak aright.

No man

repented

of his wickedness,

Saying,
‘What have I done?’

Everyone
turned to his
own course,

As the horse
rushes into
the battle.

7

“Even the stork
in the heavens  Knows her
appointed times;

And the turtledove,
the swift, and the swallow
Observe the time of
their coming.

But *My people
do not know the judgment
of the Lord.

8

“How can you say,
‘We are wise,

And the law of
the Lord is with us’?

Look,

the false pen
of the scribe

certainly

works

falsehood.

9

The wise men
are ashamed,

They are dismayed
and taken.

Behold,

they

have

rejected

the word

of the Lord;

So what wisdom
do they have?

10

Therefore

I will give
their wives
to others,

And their fields
to those who will
inherit them;

Because
from the least
even to the greatest

Everyone is
given to

covetousness;

From
the prophet

even
to the priest

Everyone

deals

falsely.

11

For they have healed
the hurt of the daughter of
*My people slightly,

Saying,
‘Peace, peace!’

When

there is

no peace.

12

Were they ashamed
when they had
committed

abomination?

No!

They
were not
at all ashamed,

Nor
did they know
how to blush.

Therefore

they shall fall
among those
who fall;

In the time of
their punishment

They shall be
cast down,”

says the Lord.

13

“I will surely
consume them,”

says
the Lord.

“No grapes
shall be on
the vine,

Nor figs
on the fig tree,

And the leaf
shall fade;

And the things
I have given them
shall pass away
from them.” ’ ”

“Why
do we sit still?

Assemble
yourselves,

And let us
enter the fortified
cities,

And let us
be silent
there.

For the Lord
our God has put us
to silence

And given us
water of gall
to drink,

Because

we

have

sinned

against
the Lord.

“We looked
for peace,

but
no good came;

And for a time
of health,

and there was
trouble!

16

The snorting of
His horses was
heard from
Dan.

The whole land
trembled at the sound
of the neighing of
His strong ones;

For they have come
and devoured
the land

and
all that is
in it,

The city
and those who
dwell in it.”

17

“For behold,

I will send serpents
among you,

Vipers
which cannot be
charmed,

And they shall
bite you,”

says
the Lord.

The Prophet Mourns for the People

I would comfort
myself in sorrow;

My heart is
faint in me.

19

Listen!
The voice,

The cry of
the daughter of
*my people

From
a far country:

“Is not
the Lord
in Zion?

Is not
her King
in her?”

“Why

have they

provoked Me

to anger

With
their carved
images—

With
foreign idols?”

20

“The harvest
is past,

The summer
is ended,

And

we are not

saved!”

For the hurt
of the daughter of
*my people I am hurt.

I am
mourning;

Astonishment
has taken hold
of me.

22

Is there no balm in Gilead,
Is there no physician there?

is there no recovery

Trusting in Lying Words

7 :1

The word

that
came
to Jeremiah

from
the Lord,
saying,

2

 “Stand
in the gate
of the Lord’s
house,

and

proclaim
there

this word,

and say,

‘Hear
the word of
the Lord,

all you
 of *Judah

who
enter in
at these gates

to
worship
the Lord!’ ”

3

Thus
says the Lord of
hosts,

the God
of *Israel:

“Amend

your
ways

and
your
doings,

and

I
will
cause you

to
dwell
in this place.

4

Do not trust
in these lying
words,

saying,

‘The temple
of the Lord,

the temple
of the Lord,

the temple of
the Lord

are
these.’

5

 “For if you
thoroughly

amend

your ways

and
your doings,

if
you
thoroughly

execute

judgment

between
a man and
his neighbor,

6

if you
do not oppress
the stranger,

the fatherless,

and
the widow,

and

do not shed
innocent
blood

in
this place,

or
walk after

other

gods

to
your

hurt,

7

then
I will cause
you

to
dwell
in this place,

in
the land

that
I gave to
your fathers

forever and ever.

8

 “Behold,

you

trust in

lying  words

that
cannot
profit.

9

Will you

steal,

murder,

commit
adultery,

swear
falsely,

burn incense
to Baal,

and walk
after other
gods

whom
you do not
know,

10

and then

come
and
stand

before
Me

in
this house

which
is called
by My name,

and say,

‘We are
delivered

to do
all these

abominations’?

11

Has
this house,
which is called
by My name,

become

a den

of

thieves

in
your eyes?

Behold,

I,
even I,
have seen it,”

says
the Lord.

12

 “But
go now

to
My place
which was in
Shiloh,

where

I
set
My name
at the first,

and see

what
I did to it

because
of the wickedness
of My people
*Israel.

13

And now,

because
you have done
all these works,”

says
the Lord,

“and

I
spoke to
you,

rising up
early

and
speaking,

but

you
did not

hear,

and
I called
you,

but

you
did not

answer,

14

therefore

I will do
to the house
which is called
by My name,

in
which
you trust,

and
to this place

which
I gave to you

and
your fathers,

as I have done
to Shiloh.

15

And

I
will
cast you out of
My sight,

as
I have
cast out
all your brethren—

the whole
posterity of
Ephraim.

16

 “Therefore

do not pray
for this people,

nor
lift up
a cry or prayer
for them,

nor

make
intercession
to Me;

for
I will not
hear you.

17

Do you
not see
what they do

in
the cities of
Judah

and
in the streets
of Jerusalem?

18

The children
gather wood,

the fathers
kindle the fire,

and
the women
knead dough,

to make
cakes

for
the queen
of heaven;

and

they
 pour out
drink offerings

to other
gods,

that

they
may provoke
Me

to anger.

19

Do they
provoke
Me

to anger?”

says the Lord.

“Do they not
provoke
 themselves,

to
the shame of
their own
faces?”

20

Therefore

thus
says the Lord
God:

“Behold,

My
anger

and
My fury

will be
poured out

on
this place—

on man
and on beast,

on the trees
of the field

and
on the fruit
of the ground.

And
it will burn

and
not be
quenched.”

21

Thus

says the Lord
of hosts,

the God of
*Israel: “

Add
your burnt
offerings

to your
sacrifices
and eat meat.

22

For
I did not
speak

to
your fathers,

or
command
them

in the day
that I brought them
out of the land
of Egypt,

concerning
burnt offerings or
sacrifices.

23

But

this is
what I commanded
them,

saying,

‘Obey

My voice,

and

I
will be

your God,

and

you
shall be

My people.

And walk
in all the
ways

that
I have
commanded
you,

that

it

may be

well

with you.’

24

Yet

they

did not

obey

or
incline
their ear,

but
followed
the counsels

and
the  dictates
of their

evil hearts,

and

went
backward

and

not
forward.

25

Since
the day

that
your fathers
came out of the land
of Egypt

until
this day.,

I
have
even sent
to you

all My servants

the prophets,

daily
rising up
early

and

sending
them.

26

Yet

they

did not

obey

Me

or

incline

their ear,

but
stiffened
their neck.

They
did worse
than their fathers.

27

 “Therefore

you
shall speak
all these words
to them,

but

they
will not
obey you.

You
shall also call
to them,

but

they
will not
answer you.

Judgment on Obscene Religion

28

 “So
you shall say
to them,

‘This

is

 a nation

that

does not

obey

the voice
of the Lord

their God
nor receive
correction.

Truth

has

perished

and

has been

cut off

from
their mouth.

만군의 여호와

이와 같이
말씀하시되

너희 희생제물과
번제물의 고기를
아울러 먹으라

사실은
내가 너희 조상들을

애굽 땅에서
인도하여 낸
날에

번제나
희생에 대하여
말하지 아니하며
명령하지 아니하고

오직

내가
이것을
그들에게 명령하여
이르기를

너희는

내 목소리를

들으라

그리하면

나는

너희

하나님이

되겠고

너희는

내 백성이

되리라

너희는
내가 명령한

모든 길로

걸어가라

그리하면
복을 받으리라
하였으나

그들이
순종하지
아니하며

귀를
기울이지도
아니하고

자신들의

악한 마음의 꾀와

완악한 대로

행하여

그 등을
내게로 돌리고

그 얼굴을
향하지

아니하였으며

너희 조상들이

애굽 땅에서
나온 날부터
오늘까지

내가
내 종 선지자들을
너희에게 보내되

끊임없이
보내었으나

너희가
나에게 순종하지
아니하며

귀를
기울이지
아니하고

목을
굳게 하여

너희
조상들보다

악을
더 행하였느니라

27

네가
그들에게

이 모든 말을
할지라도

그들이
너에게 순종하지
아니할 것이요

네가
그들을 불러도

그들이
네게 대답하지
아니하리니

너는
그들에게
말하기를

너희는

너희 하나님
여호와의
목소리를

순종하지

교훈을
받지 아니하는

He
has shown
you,

O
man,
what is good;

And what
does the Lord
require of
you

But

to
do
justly,

To
love
mercy,

And

to
walk
humbly

with
your God?

Punishment of *Israel’s Injustice

9

The
Lord’s voice
cries to the city—

Wisdom
shall see
Your name:

“Hear
the rod!

Who has
appointed
it?

10

Are
there yet

the
treasures
of wickedness

In
the house
of the wicked,

And
the short
measure

that
 is
 an abomination?

11

Shall
I count
pure

those
with the wicked
scales,

And
with the bag of
deceitful
weights?

12

For
her rich men
are

full of
violence,

Her inhabitants
have spoken
lies,

And
their tongue is
deceitful

in
their
mouth.

“Therefore

I will
also make you
sick by striking
you,

By
making you
 desolate

of your sins.

You shall eat,
but not be
satisfied;

Hunger

f Omri are

Ahab’s house

in their counsels,

I may make
you a  desolation,

주께서 선한 것이
무엇임을

네게
보이셨나니

여호와께서
네게 구하시는
것은

정의를
행하며

인자를

겸손하게

네 하나님과

여호와께서
성읍을 향하여
외쳐 부르시나니

지혜는
주의 이름을
경외함이니라

너희는
매가 예비되었나니

그것을
정하신 이가
누구인지 들을지니라

악인의 집에
아직도 불의한 재물이

축소시킨
가증한 에바가

부정한 저울을

Micah  Chapter 7
Sorrow for  *Israel’s Sins

7:1

Woe
is me!

For I am like
those who gather
summer
fruits,

Like those
who glean vintage
grapes;

There is no
cluster to eat
Of the first-ripe
fruit

which
 my soul
desires.

2 

The faithful  man
has perished from
the earth,

And there is
 no one upright
among men.

They

all

lie

in wait
for blood;

Every man
hunts his brother
with a net.

3 

That they may
successfully
do evil

with both
hands—

The prince

asks

for gifts,

The judge

seeks

a bribe,

And
the great
man

utters

his

evil

desire;

So they

scheme

together.

4 

The best of
them is like
a brier;

The most upright
is sharper than
a thorn hedge;

The day of
your watchman
and your punishment
comes;

Now
shall be
their perplexity.

5 

Do not trust
in a friend;

Do not
put your confidence
in a companion;

Guard
the doors of
your mouth

From her
who lies in your
bosom.

6 

For son
dishonors
father,

Daughter
rises against
her mother,

Daughter-in-law
against her mother-
in-law;

A man’s enemies
are the men of
his own household.

Therefore
I will look to
the Lord;

I will wait
for the God of
my salvation;

will hear
me.

over me,
my enemy;

I fall,

my enemy will see,

trampled down

Like mud
in the streets.

when your walls

the decree shall go

they shall come
to you

From Assyria
and the fortified
cities,

the fortress
to the River,

sea to sea,

mountain
to mountain.

Yet
the land s
hall be desolate

Because
of those who
dwell in
it,

And
for the fruit of
their deeds.

God Will Forgive *Israel

Shepherd
Your people with
Your staff,

The flock of
Your heritage,

Who dwell
solitarily
in a woodland,

In the midst of
Carmel;

Let them
feed in Bashan
and Gilead,

As in days
of old.

15 

“As
in the days
when you came
out of the land
of Egypt,

I

will

show

them

wonders.”

16 

The nations
shall see

and
be ashamed
of all their
might;

They shall
put their hand over
theirmouth;

Their ears
shall be
deaf.

17 

They shall
lick the dust
like a serpent;

They shall
crawl from their
holes

like snakes
of the earth.

They shall
be afraid of
the Lord our
God,

And shall fear
because of
You.

Who
is a God
like You,

Pardoning
iniquity

And
passing over
the transgression
of the remnant of
His heritage?

He does not
retain His anger
forever,

Because

He

delights

in

mercy.

19 

He
will again
have compassion
on us,

And will subdue
our iniquities.

You will cast
all our
sins

Into
the depths of
the sea.

You will give
truth to
Jacob

And mercy
to Abraham,

You have sworn

무리가 다

악을 부지런히

지도자와

재판관은

뇌물을
구하며

권세자는

자기 마음의

가장 선한 자라도
가시 같고

더하도다

파수꾼들의
날

곧

형벌의 날이

말며

친구를
의지하지

아들이
아버지를
멸시하며

딸이

구원하시는 하나님

오직 나는

여호와를
우러러보며

기도와 찬양

원하건대

주의 지팡이로

곧 갈멜 속 삼림에
홀로 거주하는

기업의 양 떼를
먹이시되

그들을
옛날 같이

바산과
길르앗에서
먹이시옵소서

이르시되

네가
애굽 땅에서
나오던 날과 같이

내가
그들에게
이적을 보이리라
하셨느니라

이르되

여러 나라가 보고
자기의 세력을
부끄러워하여

손으로
그 입을 막을
것이요

귀는
막힐 것이며

17

그들이 뱀처럼
티끌을 핥으며

땅에 기는
벌레처럼
떨며

그 좁은
구멍에서
나와서

두려워하며

우리 하나님
여호와께로
돌아와서

주로
말미암아
두려워하리이다

18

주와 같은 신이
어디 있으리이까

주께서는

죄악과
그 기업에 남은
자의

허물을
사유하시며

인애를

기뻐하시므로

진노를

오래 품지

아니하시나이다

19

다시

우리를
불쌍히 여기셔서

우리의
죄악을

발로
밟으시고

우리의
모든 죄를

깊은 바다에
던지시리이다

20

주께서

옛적에
우리 조상들에게

맹세하신
대로

야곱에게
성실을 베푸시며

아브라함에게
인애를 더하시리이다
