In Everything Give Thanks, for This is The Will of God

1 Thessalonians 5

5:1

But
concerning
the times

and
the seasons,

brothers
and Sisters,

you
have no need

that
anything
be written to
you.

2

For
you yourselves
know well

that
the day of
the Lord comes

like
a thief
in the night.

3

For
when they
are saying,

“Peace and safety,”

then

sudden
destruction
will come on them,

like
birth pains
on a pregnan
woman.

Then

they will in
no way escape.

4

But  you,

brothers and sisters,
are not in darkness,

So that
this day
should surprise
you

like a thief.

5

You
are all children
of light

and
children
of the day.

We
don’t belong
to the night,

nor
to darkness,

6

so then
let’s not sleep,

as
the rest do,

but
let’s watch
and be sober.

7

For
those who sleep,

sleep
in the night;

and
those who are
drunk are drunk
in the night.

8

But
since we belong
to the day,

let’s
be sober,

putting on
the breastplate of

faith

and

love,

and
for a helmet,

the hope

of

salvation.

9

For
God didn’t
appoint us

to
wrath,

but
to the obtaining of
salvation

through

our Lord

Jesus Christ,

10

who

died

for us,

that,
whether
we wake or sleep,

we

should

live

together

with him.

11

Therefore

exhort
one another,

and
build each other up,
even as you
also do.

12

But
we beg you,
brothers,

to know
those who labor
among you,

and
are over you
in the Lord,

and
admonish
you,

13

and
to respect
and honor them
in love

for
their work’s
sake.

Be
at peace

among
yourselves.

14

We
exhort you,
brothers:

Admonish
the disorderly;

encourage
the faint-
hearted;

support
the weak;

be patient
toward all.

15

See that

no one
returns evil for evil
to anyone,

but
always
follow after

that
which is good

for
one another

and
for all.

16

Always

rejoice.

17

Pray

without
ceasing.

18

In
everything

give thanks,

for
this is
the will of God

in
Christ Jesus
toward
you.

19

Don’t
quench
the Spirit.

20

Don’t
despise
prophecies.

21

Test
all things,

and
hold firmly
that which is
good.

22

Abstain

from

every form

of evil.

23

May
the God of peace
himself sanctify you
completely.

May
your whole spirit,
soul, and body

be
preserved
blameless

at
the coming of
our Lord

Jesus
Christ.

24

He
who calls you
is faithful,

who
will also do it.

25

Brothers,
and sisters

pray for us.

26

Greet
all the brothers
with a holy kiss.

27

I solemnly
command you
by the Lord
that

this letter
be read
to

all
the holy
brothers.

28

The grace

of
our Lord

Jesus Christ

be

with you.

Amen.

데살로니가전서 5장

5:1

형제들아
때와 시기에 관하여는

너희에게
쓸 것이 없음은

5:2

주의 날이
밤에 도둑 같이
이를 줄을

너희 자신이
자세히  알기
때문이라

5:3

그들이
평안하다,
안전하다 할
그 때에

임신한 여자에게
해산의 고통이
이름과
같이

멸망이
갑자기 그들에게
이르리니

결코
피하지 못하리라

5:4

형제들아

너희는
어둠에 있지
아니하매

그 날이
도둑같이

너희에게
임하지 못하리니

5:5

너희는

다
빛의
아들이요

낮의
아들이라

우리가
밤이나 어둠에
속하지 아니하나니

5:6

그러므로

우리는
다른 이들과 같이
자지 말고

오직 깨어
정신을 차릴지라

5:7

자는 자들은
밤에 자고

취하는 자들은
밤에 취하되

5:8

우리는
낮에 속하였으니

정신을 차리고

믿음과

사랑의

호심경을 붙이고

구원의

소망의

투구를 쓰자

5:9

하나님이
우리를 세우심은

우리를
노하심에 이르게
하심이 아니요

오직
우리 주
예수  그리스도로
말미암아

구원을
받게 하심이라

5:10

예수께서
우리를 위하여
죽으사

우리로 하여금
깨어 있든지
자든지

자기와 함께
살게 하려
하셨느니라

5:11

그러므로

피차
권면하고

서로
덕을 세우기를
너희가 하는 것 같이
하라

5:12

형제들아
우리가 너희에게
구하노니

너희 가운데서
수고하고

주 안에서
너희를 다스리며
권하는 자들을

너희가 알고

5:13

그들의
역사로 말미암아

사랑 안에서

가장
귀히 여기며

너희끼리
화목하라

5:14

또 형제들아
너희를 권면하노니

게으른 자들을
권계하며

마음이
약한 자들을
권계하며

마음이
약한 자들을
격려하고

힘이
없는 자들을
붙들어 주며

모든 사람에게
오래  참으라

5:15

삼가
누가 누구에게든지

악으로 악을
갚지 말게 하고

서로 대하든지
모든 사람을
대하든지

항상
선을 따르라

5:16

항상
기뻐하라

5:17

쉬지 말고
기도하라

5:18

범사에
감사하라

이것이

그리스도
예수 안에서

너희를 향하신
하나님의 뜻이니라

5:19

성령을
소멸하지 말며

5:20

예언을
멸시하지 말며

5:21

범사에
헤아려 좋은 것을
취하고

5:22

악은

어떤 모양이라도

버리라

5:23

평강의
하나님이

친히
너희를 온전히
거룩하게 하시고

너희의
온 영과 혼과 몸이

우리 때에
흠 없게 보전되기를
원하노라

5:24

너희를
부르시는 이는
미쁘시니

그가
또한 이루시리라

형제들아
우리를 위하여
기도하라

거룩하게
입맞춤으로

문안하라
