Threats Against Their Land

“I have heard
the insults of
Moab

  and
the taunts of
the Ammonites,

who
insulted
my people

 and

made threats
against their
land.

Therefore,
as surely as
I live,”

  declares

the
Lord
Almighty,

  the God of
Israel,

“surely
Moab will become
like Sodom,

  the
Ammonites
like Gomorrah—


a place of
weeds and
salt pits,

 a wasteland
forever.


The remnant
of my people will
plunder
them;

   the survivors
of my nation will
inherit their
land.”

This is
what they will get
in return for their
pride,

 for
insulting and
mocking

    the people of
the Lord
Almighty.

The Lord
will be awesome
to them

 when
he destroys
all the gods of
the earth.

Distant nations
will bow down
to him,

 all of them
in their own
lands.

내가

모압의
훼방과

암몬 자손의
후욕을 들었나니

그들이
내 백성을
훼방하고

스스로 커서
그 경계를 침범
하였느니라

그러므로

만군의 여호와
이스라엘의 하나님이
말하노라

나의 삶을 두고
맹세하노니

장차
모압은
소돔 같으며

암몬 자손은
고모라 같을
것이라

찔레가 나며
소금 구덩이가
되어

영원히
황무하리니

나의
끼친 백성이
그들을 노략하며

나의
남은 국민이
그것을 기업으로
얻을 것이라

그들이
이런 일을
당할 것은

교만하여
스스로 커서

만군의 여호와의
백성을

훼방함이니라
