앵두나무 밑에
모이던 아이들이


살구나무 그늘로
옮겨가면


누우렇던 보리들이
다 거둬지고
모내기도 끝나

다시 젊어지는
산과 들
진초록 땅 위에
태양은 타오르고

물씬물씬
숨을 쉬며
푸나무는 자란다

뻐꾸기야,
네 소리에도
싫증이 났다

수다스런
꾀꼬리야,
너도 멀리 가거라

봇도랑 물소리 따라

우리들
김매기 노래
구슬프게 또 우렁차게
울려라

길솟는 담배밭
옥수수밭에 땀을
뿌려라

아, 칠월은
버드나무 그늘에서
찐 감자를 먹는,

복숭아를 따며
하늘을 쳐다보는
칠월은

다시
목이 타는
가뭄과 싸우고

지루한
장마를 견디고

태풍과 홍수를
이겨내어야
하는

칠월은
우리들 땀과
노래 속에 흘러가라

칠월은
싱싱한 열매와
푸르름 속에
살아가라

and the spirit returns

Fear God

keep his
commandments,

7월의
태양에서는

사자새끼
 냄새가 난다.

7월의
 태양에서는

장미꽃
냄새가 난다.

그 태양을
 쟁반만큼씩

목에다 따다가
걸고 싶다.

그 수레에
초원을 달리며

심장을 싱싱히
그슬리고
싶다.

그리고 바람,

바다가
 밀며 오는,

소금냄새의
 깃발,

콩밭 냄새의
깃발,

아스팔트
 냄새의,

그 잉크빛
냄새의 바람에

펄럭이는 절규—.

7월의 바다의
저 출렁거리는
파면(波面)

새파랗고
싱그러운

아침의
 해안선의
조국의 포옹.

7월의
바다에서는,

내일의
소년들의
축제 소리가
온다.

내일의
소녀들의
꽃비둘기 날리는

소리가 온다.

오가는
발걸음

만나는
사람마다
표정이 어둡다

나는
그들에게
용기를 주는

밝은 시를
쓰고 싶다

불황의 바람은

뿌리
내리고 서 있는
나무에게는

피해갈 수 없는
고통이지만

흔들리는 것은
잔가지일
뿐

뿌리는
견딜 수 있는
것이라고

태풍도 지나가면

잔잔한 고요가
찾아오는
것이라고

만나는
사람마다

위로해주고 싶다

속삭여주고
