Wealth and Possessions

Then
I realized that
it is good and proper
for a man to eat
and drink,

and
to find satisfaction
in his toilsome labor
under the sun

during
the few days of life
God has given him —
for this is
his lot.

Moreover,
when God gives
any man wealth
and possessions,

and enables him
to enjoy them,
to accept
his lot

and be happy
in his work —

this is a gift of God.

He seldom reflects
on the days of
his life,

because
God keeps him
occupied with
gladness
of heart.

Ecclesiastes 5:18-20

사람이 하나님의 주신바
그 일평생에 먹고 마시며

해 아래서 수고하는
모든 수고 중에서
낙을 누리는 것이

is a major harvest
festival

a three-day holiday in both
North- and South Korea celebrated
on the 15th day of the 8th month
of the lunar calendar
on the full moon.

Like many
other harvest festivals
around the world, it is held around
the autumn at the very end
of summer or in
early autumn.
