장구미 고모

아버지 상을
치르고,

친정 조카가
보고 싶다는

고모를 뵈러

신양면 황계리
노인요양원을
찾았다

……아버지가…
저 전달에…

말문을
열려는 순간

고모는
빨간 목젖을
떨며

어린아이처럼
목을 놓았다

89살 먹은
동생이

91살 오빠의
비보를 접하자

오빠를 부르며
송아지처럼
머리를 부딪혀
울었다

할머니가
다섯 살 난
딸을

삽다리
제재소 집

애 보는 아이로
주고 온 날
밤에도

모녀는
다른 지붕 아래서
저렇게 울었을
것이다

밤 되면
호랑이가 찾아와
무섭다며

정신 줄을
놓으시는
고모

지금도,
눈 쌓인 봉수산
쳐다보며

그 밤
생각하시는
걸까

세상의 문이
나를 향해
다 열려 있는 것
같지만

막상
열어보면
닫혀 있는 문이
참 많다

방문과 대문만
그런 게
아니다

자주
만나면서도
외면하며 지나가는
얼굴들

소리 없이
내 이름을 밀어내는
이데올로그들

편견으로 가득한
완고한 집들이
그러하다

등뒤에다
야유와 멸시의 언어를
소금처럼 뿌리는
이도 있다

그들의 문을 열
만능 열쇠가
내게는
없다

이 세상
많은 이들처럼

나도 그저
평범한 몇 개의
열쇠만을 갖고
있을 뿐이다

그러나
두드리는 일을
멈추진 않을
것이다

사는 동안
내내 열리지 않던
문이

나를 향해
열리는 날처럼

기쁜 날이
어디 있겠는가

문이
천천히 열리는
그 작은 삐걱임과

빛의 양이 점점
많아지는
소리

희망의 소리도

절망이라는 씨앗

산봉우리가 폭발하여
불흙에 손발이
묻히고

땅이 갈라져
얼음바위가
등허리를
덮치고

마침내

저 밑의 지하에서
