참 바보다
참 불쌍하다
저렇게 살지 말아야지
그런데
참 이상하게도
더는
바보처럼 보이지 않았고
더는
불쌍하게 여겨지지 않았고
그리움의 가슴으로
그렇게 살아지는 건
왜일까?
주름살보다 깊게 파인 세월
그보다 더 깊은 사랑으로
후회의 꽃 한 송이 들고
돌이킬 수 없는 세월의 흐름에 올라
사랑에 빚진 깨달음의 사랑으로
눈물짓는 자로
불러 봅니다

가시연꽃으로 피는 사춘기
-김인숙-
사춘기 소녀는
말끝마다 가시를 세웠다
그저 말없이 무던히 다 받아주던 엄마
사춘기 아들에게
그때의 가시가 그대로 돋아났다
엄마 같은 엄마가 될 수 없는 나는
가끔 가시를 피해서 간다
부모는 가시를 안으로 세우고
자식은 가시를 밖으로 세운다
제 살이 찢기면서도
미소짖는 부모는
가시돋힌 자식을 온몸으로 품고도
신음하지 않는다
다만 속으로
숨 가쁘고 힘겨울 뿐이다

James “Jim” R. Cymbala/pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle
James “Jim” R. Cymbala
(born 1949) is an American author
and pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle.
He is also a former college basketballplayer,
serving on the teams for
the United States Naval Academy
and the University of Rhode Island.
Cymbala’s best-selling books
include Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire;
Fresh Faith; and Fresh Power.
In 2002, Cymbala was nominated for a
Dove Award for Musical of the Year,
for his work on Light Of The World,
along with his wife, Carol Cymbala
and their 270-voice Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir
He has been the pastor of
the multi-racial megachurch
The Brooklyn Tabernacle, since 1971.
When he began serving
The Brooklyn Tabernacle,
the church membership numbered
fewer than 30 persons.
As of 2012, the church numbers
over 16,000 members.
The Cymbalas have three children
and nine grandchildren.
