Malachi 2 :1-17

1

“And now,
O priests,
this commandment
is for you.

2 

If you
will not hear,

And if you
will not take it
to heart,

To give
glory to
My name,”

Says the Lord
of hosts,

“I will send
a curse
upon you,

And I will
curse your
blessings.

Yes,

I have cursed
them

already,

Because
you do not
take it to heart.

3 

“Behold,

I will

rebuke

your

descendants

And spread
refuse

on your
faces,

The refuse
of your solemn
feasts;

And one will
take you away
with it.

4 

Then
you shall know
that

I
have sent
this commandment
to you,

That
My covenant with
Levi may
continue,”

Says
the Lord of
hosts.

5 

“My covenant
was with him,

one of

life

and

peace,

And
I gave them
to him

that
he might fear
Me;

So
he feared
Me

And was
reverent
before My name.

6 

The law
of truth was
in his mouth,

And

injustice
was not found
on his lips.

He walked
with Me

in
peace

and
equity,

And
turned
many away from
iniquity.

7 

“For the lips
of a priest should
keep knowledge,

And people
should seek
the law from his
mouth;

For
he is
the messenger

of
the Lord of
hosts.

8 

But

you have
departed from
the way;

You have
caused many
to stumble

at
the law.

You have
corrupted
the covenant of
Levi,”

Says
the Lord of
hosts.

9 

“Therefore

I also have
made
you

contemptible

and
base

Before
all the people,

Because

you
have not
kept My ways

But
have shown
partiality

in
the law.”

Treachery of Infidelity

10 

Have
we not
all one Father?

Has not
one God
created us?

Why do we
deal treacherously
with one another

By
profaning
the covenant of
the fathers?

11 

Judah has dealt
treacherously,

And
an abomination
has been committed
in* Israel

and
in *Jerusalem,

For Judah
has profaned

The Lord’s holy
institution which
He loves:

He has married
the daughter of
a foreign
god.

12 

May
the Lord
cut off from the tents
of Jacob

The man
who does this,
being wake and
aware,

Yet who
brings an offering
to the Lord of
hosts!

13 

And this is
the second thing
you do:

You cover
the altar of the
Lord

with
tears,

With
weeping

and
crying;

So He does not
regard the offering
anymore,

Nor
receive it
with goodwill from
your hands.

14 

Yet
you say,

“For what
reason?”

Because
the Lord has been
witness

Between
you and the wife of
your youth,

With whom
you have dealt
treacherously;

Yet she is
your companion

And your wife
by covenant.

15 

But

did He not
make them one,

Having
a remnant of
the Spirit?

And why one?

He seeks
godly offspring.

Therefore
take heed
to your spirit,

And let none
deal treacherously
with the wife of
his youth.

16 

“For the Lord
God of *Israel
says

That
He hates
divorce,

For it covers
one’s garment
with violence,”

Says
the Lord of
hosts.

“Therefore
take heed to
your spirit,

That
you do not deal
treacherously.”

17 

You have wearied
the Lord

with
your words;

Yet
you say,

“In what way
have we wearied
Him?”

In that
you say,

“Everyone
who does evil
Is good

in
the sight of
the Lord,

And He
delights in
them,”

Or,

“Where is
the God of
justice?”

진리의 법이

불의함이

화평함과

정직함으로

돌이켜

죄악에서
떠나게 하였느니라

제사장의
입술은

지식을
지켜야 하겠고

사람들은
그의 입에서

율법을
구하게 되어야
할 것이니

제사장은
만군의 여호와의
사자가 됨이거늘

너희는

옳은 길에서
떠나

많은 사람을

율법에
거스르게
하는도다

나 만군의 여호와가
이르노니

너희가
레위의 언약을
깨뜨렸느니라

너희가
내 길을 지키지
아니하고

율법을
행할 때에

사람에게
치우치게
하였으므로

나도
너희로 하여금

모든
백성 앞에서

멸시와

천대를

당하게

하였느니라
하시니라

거짓을 행하는 유다

10

우리는
한 아버지를
가지지 아니하였느냐

한 하나님께서
지으신 바가
아니냐

어찌하여
우리 각 사람이

자기
형제에게

거짓을 행하여

우리 조상들의
언약을

욕되게 하느냐

거짓을 행하였고

*이스라엘과
예루살렘 중에서는

가증한 일을
행하였으며

유다는
여호와께서
사랑하시는

그 성결을
욕되게 하여

이방 신의 딸과
결혼하였으니

이 일을 행하는
사람에게 속한 자는

깨는 자나
응답하는 자는
물론이요

만군의 여호와께
제사를 드리는 자도

여호와께서
야곱의 장막 가운데에서
끊어 버리시리라

너희가
이런 일도
행하나니

곧

눈물과

울음과

탄식으로

여호와의
제단을

가리게
하는도다

그러므로
여호와께서

다시는
너희의 봉헌물을
돌아보지도
아니하시며

그것을

너희 손에서

기꺼이
받지도
아니하시거늘

이르기를

어찌
됨이니이까
하는도다

이는

너와 네가 어려서 맞이한
아내 사이에

여호와께서
증인이 되시기
때문이라

그는 네 짝이요
너와 서약한 아내로되

네가
그에게 거짓을
행하였도다

그에게는
영이 충만하였으나

오직 하나를
만들지 아니하셨느냐

어찌하여
하나만 만드셨느냐

이는 경건한 자손을
얻고자 하심이라

그러므로
네 심령을 삼가
지켜

어려서 맞이한
아내에게

거짓을 행하지
말지니라

“Here is my servant,
whom I uphold,

my chosen one

in
whom
I delight;

I will
put my Spirit
on him,

and

he will

bring justice

to the nations.

He will not
shout or cry out,

or
raise his voice
in the streets.

A bruised reed
he will not
break,

and
a smoldering wick
he will not
snuff out.


In faithfulness

he will

bring forth

justice;

falter

Who is blind
but my servant,

like the messenger

like the one in covenant
with me,

the servant of
the Lord?

You have seen
many things,

but

you pay

no attention;

your ears are open,

but

you do not

listen.”

It pleased the Lord

 for
the sake of
his righteousness

to make
his law great and
glorious.

But
this is a people
plundered and looted,

all of them
trapped in pits

or hidden away
in prisons.


They
have become
plunder,

with
no one to rescue
them;


they
have been made
loot,

with
no one to say,

“Send them back.”

Which
of you will listen
to this

 or pay
close attention i
n time to come?

24

Who
handed Jacob
over to become loot,

and Israel to the plunderers?


Was it not the Lord,

against whom we have sinned?


For they would not
follow his ways;

they

did not

obey his law.

So
he poured out
on them

his
burning
anger,

the violence of war.


It enveloped them
in flames,

yet

they did not
understand;

it consumed them,

but

they did not

take it

to heart.

도둑 맞으며

탈취를 당하며

다 굴 속에 잡히며

옥에 갇히도다

노략을 당하되

구할 자가 없고

되돌려 주라

말할 자가

없도다

너희 중에 누가

이 일에 귀를 기울이겠느냐

누가 뒤에 올 일을

삼가 듣겠느냐

야곱이
탈취를 당하게 하신 자가
누구냐

이스라엘을
약탈자들에게 넘기신 자가

여호와가 아니시냐

우리가 그에게
범죄하였도다

그들이

그의 길로

다니기를
