The Arrogant

For
you
are not
a God

who is
pleased with
wickedness;

with you,

evil people
are not
welcome.

The arrogant
cannot stand
in your presence.

You
hate all
who do
wrong;

you
destroy
those who
tell lies.

The bloodthirsty
and deceitful

you,
Lord,

detest.

사랑의
울타리 만들어
거센 비바람
몸소 막아
내고

행복의 꽃
찬란하게 피어
있는
곳

까르르

꽃들이 웃는다

이토록
세상살이
힘들다 말들
해도

층층돌담
가시밭길
맨발로
가도

사랑하는
가족이 있기에
행복 합니다

고통을
웃음으로
참아내며

아버지의
그늘진 모습
축 처진 어깨
보이기
싫어서

때론
큰소리로
윽박을 지르기도
하지만

평생을
어루만질

그리울 땐

No Love, No Mercy

slanderers,
God-haters,
insolent, arrogant
and boastful;

they invent
ways of doing evil;
they disobey their
parents;

they
have no
understanding,
no fidelity,

no love,

no mercy.

Although
they know
God’s righteous
decree

that
those who
do such things
deserve
death,

they
not only
continue to do
these very
things

but
also approve of
those who
practice
them.

하나님께서

 김치찌개
하나

둘러앉아
저녁 식사를 하는
식구들의 모습 속에는

하루의 피곤과
침침한 불빛을 넘어서는

어떤 보이지 않는
힘 같은 것이 들어 있다

실한 비계 한 점
아들의 숟가락에
올려 주며

야근 준비는
다 되었니
어머니가 묻고

아버지가
고추잎을 닮은
딸 아이에게

오늘 학교에서
뭘 배웠지 그렇게 애기할 때

이 따뜻하고
푹신한 서정의 힘 앞에서

어둠은 우리들의
마음과 함께 흔들린다

이 소박한
한국의 저녁 시간이
우리는 좋다

거기에는
부패와 좌절과

거짓 화해와
광란하는 십자가와 

덥석몰이를 당한
이웃의 신음이 없다

38선도 DMZ도
사령관도 친일파도

염병헐,
시래기 한 가닥만 못한
이데올로기의 끝없는
포성도 없다

식탁 위에
시든 김치
고추무릅 동치미
대접 하나

식구들은
눈과 가슴으로
오래 이야기하고

그러한 밤
십자가에 매달린

한 유대 사내의
웃는 얼굴이 

점점 커지면서

끝내는 식구들의
웃는 얼굴과 겹쳐졌다
